Kids Zone (Sunday School)

This is offered in each of our ministry centres.

Being light to the people of the Mackay region

At Holy Trinity Anglican Church is proud to offer a warm and colourful, designated Kids Zone within the church itself. We welcome young families and believe it is an integral and important part of our worship tradition to include our children in being present at services.

Children’s activities are provided for both small children (toddlers), who are encouraged to be themselves and amuse themselves in our play corner with their parents. We don’t mind mess, we love the sounds of gurgling, happy sometimes noisy little ones in our midst. Lessons to be learned from scripture and associated craft activities are also provided for older children in an adjacent area within the church and these learning and fun activities are led by one of our adult worshippers with a special interest in Children’s Ministry.

At Saint Charles Anglican Church we hold Kid Zone in the back of the church where the children are not too far from their families. They are able to observe the liturgy and participate in the prayers. Activities commence after the Ministry of the Word allowing the children to hear the weekly Bible readings. The children are invited to participate in craft activities reflecting the theme of the day. “Take home activity sheets” using the ‘sermons for kids’ programme are also available. At the end of the service, the children are invited to share the story, the activity and show their completed projects with the congregation. Special activity ‘gift bags’ are available at the Christmas and Easter services.

At St Ambrose Anglican Church Kids Zone generally operates during school term by a team of people who are able to provide consistency in telling the Gospel message through story, craft, puzzles and worksheets by explaining and reinforcing the service readings and Gospel story for the day.

The children generally leave after the time of celebration, returning briefly to share in communion, and towards the end of the service sharing the congregation through “show and tell”.

We believe on giving our young children a sense of belonging and the knowledge that Jesus loves them and will protect them remains our focus.

Our prayer to God is that, “the children experience the love of Jesus as they journey through life.

In addition, we are attempting to set up live streaming so that you can see and participate through your computer. Other ministry units across the diocese are also live streaming.  We will place the information on Facebook and email the links  for our services as well as other relevant details.

We will be producing the Beacon each week with some relevant material.
