Being light to the people of the Mackay region
LADIES CLUB is now 55 years old. A very good achievement for any club, which commenced in 1964, by a team of dedicated Christian ladies, who as young mother were unable to attend daytime meetings.
We are now mainly a social group meeting after church on one Friday a month for lunch (date, time and place are published in “The Beacon”) .
One of the projects we are involved in is the making of the baptism bears. These soft cuddly bears are a reminder of God’s all-embracing love. This has been a big undertaking in itself, with dozens and dozens being made and donated by the club to the church as a gift to children who are baptised. Last year we made 50 bears.
